Does being present in the moment
mean close attention need be paid
to terrestial squabbling?

Must we absorb ourselves in issues
and challenges of moment?

Is presence sidestepping the 'at hand'
and absorbing ourselves in
breathing
feeling
calming
appreciating
hoping
dreaming
creating
sharing
caring
reaching
tasting
loving?

closer to being present

reality
that moment of now
past at recognition
ephemeral
snap
a photo
think back
a memory
too ephemerons
perhaps
but the power to delay
the inevitable vanishing
of the moments and thoughts
that are your life
that photo
that memory
those words written
too have a life
with a beginning
and
an end
also ephemeral
in millenium speak
but I realize only my life
and to keep
visuals
meaningful moments
memories
