slow me down

I don't have it all going on
my life is rather basic really
perhaps simple
but I still feel the need to
slow it down

after visiting the Dominican
Republic recently and
experiencing their slower
pace of life,
I try to remind myself to
keep the DR pace
to remember
the folks watching
traffic go by
people with smiles

we saw people with
so few possessions
and for me, it made
me want to have
less; to look less
to the goods for
satisfaction and more
towards the senses.

Look more towards
my pups
my eyes
my ears
my heart
towards touch
and
thoughts
and
learning
and
laughing
and
being with
people
and
flowers
and
dancing wicks
and
memories
and
spirits

Remember the
DR pace
I remind
myself
